Hello DHS, this is one of our new special education teachers, Maxine Campbell. Before Campbell began working here at Dhs she was a hospital fellowship coordinator, and although she did enjoy this job, she always wanted to be a teacher.

She loves kids and loves the idea of contributing to their education and helping them learn even more. She describes her students as very humorous with great personalities. They know how to settle down when it is time to become serious about work, says Campbell.

While she was in school her favorite subject was English; she loved to read and write. Now as an adult her favorite activity is running. She also loves spending quality time with her family members. She believes your personality is important in being a teacher, remarking, “If you are a person who is approachable, students know they can come to you. Your character and personality traits play a part in your success as a teacher; it is who you are and it will show your interest in the classroom.”

Campbell loves her students and coworkers — they are what make her experiences at DHS so positive. Campbell is a very calm and charismatic person, and she can help make your experiences just as good here.  Say hello to another one of our amazing additions to the school!
