Restaurant Review: The Valley Diner

By Faith Anderson ’25

The Valley Diner restaurant, the well-known restaurant in Derby, embodies a vibe that attracts an older crowd. This restaurant is a well-put-together, 70’s retro-vibe diner. The ambiance of the restaurant will make you feel as if you traveled back to the 70’s while having a nice lunch with your friends. When it comes to the upbeat music, the food, the quality, the good prices, and the friendly wait staff, this restaurant hits the spot.

The Vegetable Wrap is a very delicious, vegan-friendly dish. As a vegetarian, it was shocking to see this restaurant had a long menu with different varieties of food and a large selection for everyone. The dish contained grilled portabella mushrooms, eggplant, roasted peppers, zucchini, and mozzarella cheese for the cost of $16 – a reasonable price. It was filled with all those flavored vegetables, prepared well, and served in a decent time. Every dish I ordered tasted like it was a comfortable, home-cooked meal.

I would recommend this restaurant to an older couple or older group of people because of the lively environment for them to enjoy, but it really caters to any age. The service is respectful and would make you want to keep going back to enjoy yourself and the reasonably priced food. The Valley Diner Restaurant in Derby is a great place to grab brunch or a late-night meal with yourself or anyone. You can be sure that you will enjoy your reasonably priced meal in a relaxed atmosphere and make memories.
