Texas Roadhouse excellent service and even better bread rolls

“Welcome to Legendary.” Legendary means hand-cut steaks, fall-off-the-bone ribs, made-from-scratch sides, ice-cold beer, and of course, our irresistible fresh-baked bread. This is the motto at Texas Roadhouse.

First opened by Kent Taylor in Clarksville, Indiana in 1993, Texas Road House has been serving its people for 31 years. The chain restaurant has about 627 locations in 49 states here in the U.S. and 29 international locations in 11 different countries. Six of those locations are here in Connecticut. This is as stated on the Texas Roadhouse website.

I recently went to the Texas RoadHouse in Waterbury and it did not disappoint, as usual. I went just as they opened at 11:30 a.m., so I did not have to wait to be seated, but if you were to go around lunch time or dinner time any day, I would highly recommend putting your name on their waitlist because it gets packed very fast.

Once we were seated, we were given their outstanding bread rolls and cinnamon butter. The service was extremely fast and the food was top-notch. Our server always made sure we had a fresh refill of bread rolls and a fresh refill on our drinks. We got their famous cactus blossom, which is fried almost like onion rings with a special cactus blossom sauce. I got my favorite, salmon Caesar salad. This is a bizarre thing to get from a steakhouse, I know, but I dislike steak, so the salmon Caesar salad will do.

The person I was with got a 8 oz. sirloin steak with a side of french fries and a Caesar salad. He said the steak was cooked perfectly medium and the french fries and Cesar salad were also very good.

The place smelled of fresh bread and steak, like a fresh outside barbecue, but inside. The service was fast and our server was good at her job, always making sure we had fresh refills of everything and putting in our orders fast so we weren’t waiting long. The old Texas Roadhouse charm has also returned since they have brought back their bags of peanuts for the first time since COVID hit in 2020. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
