Yearbook staff give an outlook on The Lookout

By Emma Hyder ’25

On April 14, 2025 The Lookout staff sent the final draft of The Lookout for publishing. After seven months of hard work, unlimited sports events, exciting pep rallies, and thousands of photos, the final draft is something the school will be proud of and an accurate representation of all the fun we had this school year.

This edition of The Lookout had fun layouts like spirit week, sports seasons, and talent show, lip sync, ect. All of the layouts accurately represent how the event went and the fun that was had. Horatio Glover ‘26 says, “I’ll have to say boys soccer because it was a change of pace and fun for interviews,” when we asked him what his favorite spread to make was this year.

The most crucial part of putting the yearbook together is getting the pictures to best represent the events. Our yearbook staff works the whole day from beginning to end to make sure we’re at every event capturing every moment. A yearbook is more than just a collection of pictures, though. The Lookout Staff  went to students and teachers to gather their thoughts about their most memorable moments, favorite events, and school wide milestones. The articles put together throughout the book capture perfectly how events went and how much fun was had at them.

While the process of making the yearbook is long, exhausting and can give big headaches  at times, I find it to be one of the most rewarding things someone can do during their high school years. Not only does it provide a unique opportunity for students to engage with journalism, photography, and design, but it also preserves the spirit of the school for future generations. So when the yearbook comes out, remember all the effort that went into making it. It’s a collection of the friendships, fun times, and important moments that made this school year special.
