Derby High School hosted its second annual Poetry Slam on Wednesday, April 29, 2025. This year, the poets took to the stage  in the library. Students, staff, and families gathered among the bookshelves to listen to each and every one of the fifteen poets who courageously performed. The poem touched on love, identity, racism, and reliance. Each verse was packed with emotion that echoed throughout the library, revealing the depth within the poet’s identity.
