I went to Dave’s Hot Chicken located at 1611 Boston Post Road, Milford, Connecticut, on Feb. 5, 2026. It is conveniently located due to being in a highly traveled area with easy access for all customers. Their hours are Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight. I’ve heard great reviews from friends and others before, and I was ecstatic about getting the opportunity to try this savory and spicy chicken spot.

The restaurant layout was very open and there were many indoor seating options. Inside, there were wooden tables with red metal benches, chairs and stools to sit on. It was not crowded, probably because I went later in the evening. For cleanliness, it looked spotless from my perspective. There were no crumbs or greasy spots anywhere that I was within the restaurant. The walls were decorated and painted with vibrant colors and the lighting was bright throughout.

There were multiple self-ordering kiosks on the side wall, but I ordered at the food counter. I found the employees to be very nice and respectful. They took my order quickly and my food was ready in a short period of time. I also saw the staff worked well together and they had good communication in the kitchen preparing the food. I received my food and drinks fairly quickly, within 10 minutes and there were no complications with my order.

The price to feed a family of three was quite expensive, but it was similar to the cost of other fast food restaurant meal prices. The total price of all the food we bought was roughly around seventy-six dollars. The menu contains a variety of ordering options, whether you are feeding a crowd of people for a party, your family, or just yourself. The food options on their menu contained sliders, tenders, saucy bites, cauli sliders, cauli tenders, cauli bites, top loaded spicy buffalo mac and cauliflower top loaded fries. Their sides included mac and cheese, fries, cheese fries, kale slaw with a variety of dipping sauces. The spice levels for the food included no spice/not hot, all the way up to extra hot and even a reaper hot level. I think it is good to have non-chicken options, such as cauliflower for the people who do not eat chicken or meat. The drinks on the menu included top-loaded fruity pebbles, oreo and m&m shakes, regular vanilla, strawberry and chocolate shakes, as well as many slushy and fountain drink options.

When I received my order, the food was very warm and I was looking forward to trying it. I ordered Dave’s #3, which contained 1 tender and 1 slider, fries with a medium spice level, the top-loaded spicy buffalo mac with a mild spice level and a fruity pebbles vanilla top-loaded shake. The food was delicious by itself, but was even better with drizzles of honey and their Dave’s sauce. I loved the fruity pebbles shake and it helped drinking it while eating the spicy food. Brianna Fernandez ‘28, thought the food was good and said, “I loved the options for the different spicy levels and usually have a higher tolerance for hot, spicy food. I enjoyed the frozen Minute Maid strawberry lemonade slusher.”

I had a really good experience going to Dave’s Hot Chicken with all the factors, including its convenient location, environment, employees, and the food. Since I know they have late open hours, I know there will be always be a spicy chicken spot to settle my cravings, and there is no better place to go than Dave’s Hot Chicken. There are only a couple of things that would be a concern, including the price and also if you do not like spicy food to try a less spicy level option. Other than that, I would definitely recommend people visit because the food is worth a try.
