Puerto Rican artist Anuel AA, whose real name is Emmanuel Santiago, has become one of the most influential figures in the Latin reggaeton world. His journey from the streets of Puerto Rico to global fame is a story about his talent and artistic vision. From his early days experimenting with music, Anuel AA created a vibe through lyrics, catchy beats, and a swag that connected with a huge audience.

His career took off with the release of his debut album, Real Hasta la Muerte,” in 2016, which quickly established him as an important voice in the Latin trap movement. In his debut album, he released 22 songs, all recorded on his phone while in prison. The album was officially released on July 17, 2018, the same day Anuel was released from prison.

Despite facing legal challenges that led to his imprisonment, Anuel continued to create and release music that became a favorite for many. He had close friends who were also artists, like Bad Bunny and Ozuna. They supported his release and, at their own concerts, created a movement of “Free Anuel.” Meanwhile, Anuel’s audience continued to grow, and by the time he was released, he had thousands of fans.

In prison, Anuel started writing lyrics on a piece of paper. He later mentioned in interviews that, while incarcerated, he would always listen to the radio to hear what was happening in the outside world. All of his lyrics are authentic and reflect his life. Half of his music carries messages about achieving goals, while the other half features catchy beats for people to listen to and vibe with.

“Progress, not perfection” is a quote he has decided to live by. Anuel AA’s musical journey is not just about his personal success, but also his contribution to the global recognition of Latin music. From a small town in Puerto Rico and time in prison, he ultimately achieved his dream of making music. His journey has impacted many lives, showing that anything is possible.
