Mother’s Day is a very special day for the women who raised us. It gives them the recognition they absolutely deserve for their hard work. Mothers are incredibly strong, and this day is a chance to treat them and make them feel special and appreciated.
My mother is the biggest role model in my life, and I aspire to be as loving, thoughtful and hardworking as she is. Whenever I need a friend, a family member or just a support system overall, she fills all of those roles for me without hesitation. I cannot recall a time when I did not feel loved or supported by her, and I am truly grateful every single day. My mother, Christina Berrios, said, “Watching my children grow into their own beautiful individuals has been the greatest blessing of my life. Every day, I see pieces of myself in them, mixed with their own unique personalities, and it fills my heart in a way I can’t even put into words. All the love, patience and effort poured into raising them shows in how they treat others and how they carry themselves, and that means more to me than anything. They’re not just my children; they’re my best friends, my biggest supporters and my constant reminder of what truly matters.”
I was able to take my mom to Colony Grill in Milford, Connecticut, to enjoy personal pizzas on this special day. I also bought her a beautiful necklace from Pandora that I felt she would love. We both had an amazing time. She was very happy with her Mother’s Day celebration, and so was I because I got to show her how much I appreciate her.
We are all so lucky to have someone built into our lives who cares about us and loves us in every circumstance. We should celebrate our moms every day, even if it is not extravagant. A simple reminder that you are grateful for them or that you love them unconditionally goes a long way and means the most.
